RESUMEN.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Objetivos:<\/strong> Subrayar c\u00f3mo las im\u00e1genes difundidas por los medios de comunicaci\u00f3n para ilustrar noticias sobre brotes epid\u00e9micos, pueden contribuir a la confusi\u00f3n en cuanto a los EPIs que se deben utilizar para las diferentes actividades y a la forma de su utilizaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Material y M\u00e9todos:<\/strong> Se analizan im\u00e1genes que ilustraban noticias sobre el brote de coronavirus aparecidas en diferentes medios de comunicaci\u00f3n y se destacan las que hemos denominado disonancias en cuanto a los EPIs utilizados y a su forma de utilizaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Resultados y discusi\u00f3n:<\/strong> Se observan diferencias en los EPIs utilizados y en la forma de colocaci\u00f3n de los mismos en las referidas im\u00e1genes. Lo que puede contribuir al equ\u00edvoco y a la inseguridad de los profesionales sanitarios que han de utilizarlos.<\/p>\n

Conclusiones:<\/strong> Ser\u00eda muy \u00fatil unificar y estandarizar equipos para las diferentes tareas as\u00ed como los protocolos de colocaci\u00f3n y retirada, con el debido entrenamiento de los profesionales.<\/p>\n

DISSONANCES IN THE IMAGES TRANSMITTED BY THE MEDIA IN EPIDEMIC OUTBREAKS ABOUT OF PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Abstract:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Objectives:<\/strong> To underline how the images disseminated by the media to illustrate news on outbreaks, can contribute to confusion regarding the PPE to be used for the different activities and the way in which they are used.<\/p>\n

Material and Methods:<\/strong> Images that illustrate news about the coronavirus outbreak that appeared in different media are analyzed, and those that we have called dissonances in terms of the PPE used and how they are used are highlighted.<\/p>\n

Results and Discussion:<\/strong> Differences are observed in the PPE used and in the way they are placed in the referred images. This can contribute to the misunderstanding and insecurity of the health professionals who have to use them.<\/p>\n

Conclusions:<\/strong> It would be very useful to unify and standardize equipment for different tasks as well as placement and removal protocols, with the proper training of professionals.<\/p>\n
