Rev Asoc Esp Espec Med Trab 2026; 35(2):219-233<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Acceso al PDF: <div class=\"button_wrapper \"><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.aeemt.org\/Revista_AEEMT\/VOL_35_N02_2026_JUN\/Revision_2.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Impacto de la exposici\u00f3n ocupacional combinada al cobalto y carburo de tungsteno en la salud de los trabajadores: revisi\u00f3n sistem\u00e1tica de alcance de la literatura\" class=\"button_  default medium\"><strong>PDF del Art\u00edculo<\/strong><\/a><\/div>\n<p><strong>RESUMEN.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Introducci\u00f3n:<\/strong> La exposici\u00f3n ocupacional combinada al cobalto y al carburo de tungsteno es un riesgo emergente en industrias metalmec\u00e1nicas, manufactureras y mineras.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Objetivo:<\/strong> Ma-pear y sintetizar la evidencia disponible sobre los efectos en salud asociados a estos metales duros.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Material y M\u00e9todos:<\/strong> Revisi\u00f3n sistem\u00e1tica de alcance siguiendo las gu\u00edas JBI y PRISMA-ScR que analiz\u00f3 estudios primarios sobre desenlaces respiratorios, cardiovasculares e inflamatorios y mecanismos de toxicidad.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Resultados:<\/strong> Se incluyeron ocho estudios, principalmente anal\u00edticos. Se describieron afectaciones respiratorias incluida enfermedad pulmonar por metales duros, asma ocupacional, inflamaci\u00f3n, estr\u00e9s oxidativo y alteraciones cardiovasculares. Hubo variabilidad en niveles de exposici\u00f3n y m\u00e9todos de medici\u00f3n. Persisten brechas sobre efectos de largo plazo, exposici\u00f3n d\u00e9rmica y riesgo carcinog\u00e9nico.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Conclusiones:<\/strong> Se requiere fortalecer la vigilancia ocupacional, el biomonitoreo y los controles ambientales, adem\u00e1s de estudios longitudinales que clarifiquen estos riesgos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Title: <\/strong><strong>IMPACT OF COMBINED OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE TO COBALT AND TUNGSTEN CARBIDE ON WORKERS\u2019 HEALTH: <\/strong><strong>A SCOPING REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">Abstract:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Background:<\/strong> Occupational exposure to cobalt and tungsten carbide represents an emerging health risk in metalworking, mining, and manufacturing sectors.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Objective:<\/strong> To map and syn-thesize the current evidence on health outcomes associated with combined exposure to these hard metals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Material and Methods:<\/strong> A scoping review was conducted following JBI and PRISMA-ScR guidelines, including studies published between 2004 and 2024. Eight primary studies met eligibility criteria.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Results:<\/strong> Evidence consistently reports respiratory impairment particularly hard-metal lung disease, airway inflammation, oxidative stress, occupational asthma, and early cardiovascular dysfunction. Heterogeneity in exposure assessment and biomonitoring met-hods limits comparability across studies.
