PDF del Art\u00edculo<\/strong><\/a><\/div>\nRESUMEN.<\/strong><\/p>\nIntroducci\u00f3n y Objetivo:<\/strong> La apnea obstructiva del sue\u00f1o (AOS) es una condici\u00f3n frecuente en la poblaci\u00f3n. Este estudio determin\u00f3 su frecuencia y factores asociados en trabajadores peruanos de una empresa del sector construcci\u00f3n.<\/p>\nMagerial y M\u00e9todos:<\/strong> Estudio transversal anal\u00edtico en 672 trabajadores de construcci\u00f3n en Lima. Se us\u00f3 el cuestionario STOP-Bang y datos de ex\u00e1menes m\u00e9dicos ocupacionales.<\/p>\nResultados:<\/strong> El 21,8% (85 trabajadores) present\u00f3 probabilidad media\/alta de AOS. En el modelo multivariado ajustado, el riesgo aument\u00f3 significativamente con la edad (RPa: 1,06; p<0,001), el consumo de alcohol (RPa: 1,48; p=0,006), el uso de medicamentos (RPa: 1,51; p=0,011) y un mayor per\u00edmetro cervical (RPa: 1,26; p<0,001).<\/p>\nConclusiones:<\/strong> Alrededor de uno de cada cinco trabajadores tiene probabilidad media\/alta de AOS en la poblaci\u00f3n laboral evaluada. La edad, el consumo de alcohol, medicamentos y el per\u00edmetro cervical son factores clave asociados. Se recomienda investigar m\u00e1s en poblaciones laborales m\u00e1s grandes.<\/p>\nTitle: <\/strong>OBSTRUCTIVE SLEEP APNEA IS A COMMON MEDICAL CONDITION THAT AFFECTS THE POPULATION; THEREFORE, AN EXPLORATORY STUDY WAS CONDUCTED TO ASSESS THIS CONDITION IN A PERUVIAN WORKING POPULATION. <\/strong><\/p>\nAbstract:<\/strong><\/p>\nObjective:<\/strong> To determine the frequency and RISK factors associated with obstructive sleep apnea in Peruvian workers.<\/p>\nMatherial and Methods:<\/strong> An analytical cross-sectional study was conducted in a construction-sector workforce in Metropolitan Lima. The STOP-Bang questionnaire was used to identify the risk of developing the condition. This variable was then analyzed in relation to other social, anthropometric, and laboratory variables collected during annual occupational medical examinations, yielding both descriptive and analytical statistics.<\/p>\nResults:<\/strong> Of the 672 workers evaluated, 85 (21.8%) had a moderate\/high probability of obstructive sleep apnea. In the<\/p>\nmultivariate model, increasing age was associated with a higher frequency of sleep apnea (PRa: 1.06; 95% CI: 1.04\u20131.07; p<0.001). Similar associations were found among those who consumed alcohol (PRa: 1.48; 95% CI: 1.12\u20131.97; p=0.006), those who used medications (PRa: 1.51; 95% CI: 1.10\u20132.07; p=0.011), and those with a larger neck circumference (PRa: 1.26; 95% CI: 1.18\u20131.34; p<0.001). These associations were adjusted for nine variables.<\/p>\n
Discussion:<\/strong> One in five workers had a moderate\/high probability of obstructive sleep apnea. Four key variables were identified as significantly associated with the condition: age, alcohol consumption, medication use, and neck circumference. These factors should be evaluated in larger working populations, along with additional variables.
