Se construy\u00f3 un instrumento donde se consult\u00f3 la autopercepci\u00f3n del estr\u00e9s (bajo o alto, para efectos de la regresi\u00f3n log\u00edstica) y factores asociados desde el reporte de los participantes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Resultados:<\/strong> La prevalencia del estr\u00e9s autoreportado alto fue de 24,8%, asociado con el cobro de pasaje, la ausencia de tiempo de descanso entre carreras y el desconocimiento del horario de comida previamente definido; mientras que, el contar con un asiento adecuado con la conducci\u00f3n se consider\u00f3 como un factor protector.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Conclusiones:<\/strong> El estr\u00e9s de los conductores de autobuses se encuentra mediado por determinantes sociales y laborales, las cuales pueden ser prevenidos desde sus entornos laborales respaldado por pol\u00edtica p\u00fablica que garantice un bienestar y salud en esta poblaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Title: <\/strong><strong>SELF-PERCEIVED STRESS AND ASSOCIATED FACTORS IN PUBLIC TRANSPORT DRIVERS IN THE GREATER METROPOLITAN AREA OF COSTA RICA<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">Abstract:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Introduction:<\/strong> Stress is a multifactorial public health issue that affects various levels: individual, family, community, and social<\/p>\n<p><strong>Material and Methods:<\/strong> A quantitative analytical study was conducted among bus drivers in the Greater Metropolitan Area of Costa Rica. In the pilot test, the ILO-WHO Occupational Stress Scale was used to assess stress; however, due to issues with understanding the items, during data collection, participants\u2019 self-perception of stress (low or high, for analysis purposes) was consulted from a subjective standpoint.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Results:<\/strong> The prevalence of self-reported high stress was 24.8%, associated with fare collection, having rest time between shifts and a previously defined meal schedule.
