RESUMEN.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Introducci\u00f3n:<\/strong> Las enfermedades profesionales causan costes econ\u00f3micos y sociales, el conocimiento de datos estad\u00edsticos, permite generar acciones que mejoren la gesti\u00f3n en salud laboral,<\/p>\n

Material y M\u00e9todos:<\/strong> Es un estudio descriptivo retrospectivo de las enfermedades profesionales calificadas por el Instituto Ecuatoriano de Seguridad Social durante el periodo de 2017 – 2023<\/p>\n

Resultados:<\/strong> Se calificaron un total de 254 enfermedades profesionales, de estas el 52% se present\u00f3 en hombres y el 48% en mujeres, los trastornos musculo esquel\u00e9ticos corresponden al 88%, y de estos el frente al resto de patolog\u00edas, El mayor n\u00famero de casos se presentaron en mujeres con las actividades econ\u00f3micas de agricultura y en los hombres con la extracci\u00f3n de gas y petr\u00f3leo.<\/p>\n

Conclusiones:<\/strong> El sexo masculino es m\u00e1s afectado por enfermedades profesionales, los trastornos musculo esquel\u00e9ticos son la patolog\u00eda m\u00e1s prevalente, los casos de s\u00edndrome de t\u00fanel carpiano es m\u00e1s frecuente en mujeres y en hombres hernia discal lumbar.<\/p>\n

Title: <\/strong>PREVALENCE OF OCCUPATIONAL DISEASES IN ECUADOR <\/strong>DURING THE PERIOD 2017 \u2013 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n

Abstract:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Introduction:<\/strong> Occupational diseases cause economic and social costs, knowledge of statistical data allows generating actions that improve occupational health management.<\/p>\n

Materials and Methods:<\/strong> It is a retrospective descriptive study of occupational diseases classified by the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute during the period 2017 – 2023.<\/p>\n

Results:<\/strong> A total of 254 occupational diseases were classified, of these 52% occurred in men and 48% in women, musculoskeletal disorders correspond to 88%, and of these compared to the rest of the pathologies, the largest number of Cases occur in women with the economic activities of agriculture and in men with the extraction of gas and oil.<\/p>\n

Conclusions:<\/strong> The male sex is more affected by occupational diseases, musculoskeletal disorders are the most prevalent pathology, cases of carpal tunnel syndrome are more frequent in women and lumbar disc herniation in men.<\/p>\n
